This Session begins June 7th, Saturday Mornings at the IFCC from 10:00–1:00pm. (give or take 15 minutes)
We will focus on Shakespeare / with Chekhovian Monologue work.

6/7, 14, 21, 28, 7/5, 12, 19, 26, 8/2, 9
THIS CLASS WILL BE OPEN TO A MAXIMUM OF 10 STUDENTS
FIRST WEEKS:
We’ll begin with open Poetry then move into Shakespeare’s Sonnets: exploring the text in several ways to experience it’s full power and potential.
We’ll then move into Monologues of your choosing. Both Shakespeare and Chekhov.
*by the end of the first weeks you will have a vocal warm up consisting of both breath work and articulation.
I believe this to be essential to truly embrace the text and it’s meaning.
LATTER WEEKS. (week 6/7)
We will begin Scene work of my choosing.
We will explore Emotional Life, Environment, Relationship, Moment to Moment and Beat work.
At the end of this 10 Week Session you will have:
*Tools to explore Shakespearean Text as well as other classical text along with a new vocal warm up or an extension of one you use now.
*An understanding of the components to create the rich and textured lives that both Shakespeare and Chekhov require.
*And, at least 2 fresh and vibrant monologues.
This is a general description of the class.
There will be a fair amount of Homework.

I received my BFA from Wayne State University and my MFA from The University of Washington-Professional Actor’s Training Program under Jack Clay. While in New York City I studied with Tanya Berezin, founding member of Circle Repertory Theatre and Artistic Director of Circle Repertory Theatre after Marshall Mason till they closed their doors. Tanya is a celebrated Actress herself honored with an Obie for her work in Lanford Wilson’s ‘The Mound Builders’ and currently teaches herself in Los Angeles. I have worked all across the country and now Portland is my home. I am committed to this community and the highest standards I can bring to the stage through the craft of Acting. I am a proud member of Actors Equity Association.
