Leaning on the Everlasting Arms is a poetic chamber play performed in Artist Tim Stapleton’s haunting gallery installation Black Ribbon Roads. The play and artwork merge past and present as they document his journey home to the Appalachian Mountains after a heartbreaking 30 year separation. The skilled four person ensemble brings to light his childhood baptism into a strict southern church and the abuse that follows. Haunting and healing the artwork and performance reveal a fascinating struggle to happiness and sexual identity.
