September 24 Recipe For a Gallery Opening
5:00–7:30pm
1 part art, 2 parts words and 3 parts food, mix well…
word. investigates the artists relationship to text, font, words and the art of communication. This group exhibition features artists: Tom Hughes, Diane Jacobs, Andrew Binkley, JoDee Stringham, Abby Donovan, Peter Reese, Ben Buswell, Heather Watkins, The Dirty Printmakers of America, and Olivier Beaudoin.
Bring your favorite recipe to the Slow Food Advice Booth and transform it in to a Good, Clean, and Fair food recipe. All recipes will be submitted to the “IFCC food art and words cook book zine”. Poetry and short stories about food are also welcome. Drew Iwanaw of The Dirty Printmakers of America will be on hand with an etching/litho press. Bring your own tshirt to print with a snazzy design. Refreshments provided by Traeil’s Food for the Soul.
October 3rd Zine Machine: assembly workshop

How to lay out, edit and print a zine. Using materials gathered from the ongoing exhibit, participants will learn how to make a zine by creating the “IFCC food art and words cook book zine”.

Good, Clean, and Fair food recipes, poetry and short stories about food fill the community created “IFCC food art and words cook book zine”. Personalize your copy by creating a veggie stamp print cover in our kitchen print workspace. Bring your favorite recipe or a question to the Slow Food Advice Booth and enjoy a performance by the lovely and funny ladies- “The Librarians”!
