Who is an American? What does an American look like? Important questions as we head into the upcoming election. Tucked within our neighborhoods we have an amazing number of “dance halls.” Many built in the 1920’s. They spoke to cultures, rich within our community. The exhibition includes drawings of dance and music, in collaboration with photo stories researched by David Edwards, highlighting Porltand’s dance hall history. There will be story telling from people who have personal experiences to share. (Bring Yours!)

Haunting photographs by Tim Stapleton document his journey home to the Appalachian mountains after a heartbreaking 30 year separation from home. Sunday performances of his original play, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms,” bring to light his baptism into strict southern church and the abuse that follows.
