Last day to be a part of history
IFCC‘s Silver Anniversary Improvements Project is complete.
Exactly seventeen months, to the day, since it began. We raised a new sign. We soundproofed the theatre. We widened the stage door. We installed a window display box.
The sign is synergy between art and technology. If you haven’t already seen it. Drive by. Especially in the late afternoon, as the sun is setting. It positively glows. And we can display information about all the events happening at IFCC, at one time, versus our old two line marquee.
The door increases access to the stage area for theatre groups during load in and load out. While dually serving as a buffer between the street and stage in regards to sound.
The new window box is both functional and decorative. Lit in the evening, it provides an additional space for artistic display seen from the street. And soundproofed it provides both blackening backstage and sound buffer from the street noise on the south end of the building.
We made the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation match.
The Miller Foundation sent their congratulations and a check for $10,000. Together with $5,000 from the Jackson Foundation and over $6,000 from individuals like you, we raised the $10,000 challenge; and then some. See IFCCarts/support for a full list of project supporters.
It’s not too late to become a part of this historic moment.
Now that all is said and done, the final accounting is being done. The Portland Development Commission Storefront Improvements Grant Program hand delivered their final check with a handshake and a smile. Carleton Hart Architecture gave over $18,000 in in-kind services. And you helped us celebrate with our 25th Anniversary Party, Come Get Delirious: An IFCC Homecoming on October 25, 2008.
However, there is still $1,384.81 left to raise. It’s not a lot. Our website averages about 300–400 page views per week. If each of you that view this page, gave $3.75 then we’d more than make our goal.
Please make your gift by December 31 for a 100% tax deduction for 2008.
If you make a matching gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust before December 31, you also get a 100% tax credit on your taxes. That’s double the reward: a deduction and a credit. All by joining us in celebrating this special anniversary.
