Removing physical and social barriers to create a suite of dances entitled Cobalt Glance.
Impetus Arts presents Cobalt Glance, an original work that uses the singular rich hue of cobalt blue as a jumping off point for a suite of dances exploring mood, elements, pigment, and kobolds (mischievous little imps). A rich night of sound, images and movement by professional artists with and without disabilities from four cities. Featuring choreography by Agnieszka Laska, Curtis L. Walker, Robin Stiehm, Yulia Arakelyan, Kaj-Anne Pepper, Kathy Coleman, Alexis Jewell, and Meadow Leys. At the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center for one weekend only. ASL interprating and audio description available at all shows.
About Impetus Arts
Based in Portland, Oregon, Impetus Arts produces performances and teaches dance and theater classes. Visual art and writing events will be added shortly. Our goal is to remove physical and social barriers to facilitate diverse communities creating art together on the same stage or in the same room. Impetus Arts reaches out to communities and individuals who have limited access to training due to discrimination and other barriers. We also include experienced performers and strive to bridge gaps between mainstream and other art worlds. At Impetus Arts, we work to ensure that people are welcome, not in spite of their disabilities, race, culture, gender, class, age, sexuality or other identity, but because their perspectives will add to the power of our work.

Impetus Arts presents Cobalt Glance, a suite of dances exploring aspects of experiencing cobalt: mood, elements, pigment, and kobolds (mischievous imps). We include artists in our events not in spite of their disabilities, race, culture, gender or other identity, but because their perspective will add to the power of our work. Cobalt Glance uses the singular rich hue as a jumping off point for a riveting multi-media performance featuring artists from 4 different cities.
