There’s a narcissist in all of us. To some degree, it is healthy. But when does it go too far? The Collective of Geniuses presents an exploratory and hilarious romp through narcissism, war, corporations, bigotry, and consumerism, while dancing through with the joy and possibility of clowns and puppets. It will be theater for the people and by the people, at it’s best. Visit narcissist.wetpaint.com to volunteer or become an audience participant.
Denial of Self banters back and forth on this tight rope while observing
how people use the Internet as a place for role-playing and creating
alter egos with Facebook or MySpace profiles. It will also border the
ideas of right and wrong, good and bad, light and dark, seriousness and
humor, public and private.
The Collective of Geniuses intends to accomplish this using the very
medium people use to hide behind. The Internet.
Denial of Self will premiere at the Interstate Firehouse Cultural
Center through the month of December. Audiences will enjoy a hilarious
romp through narcissism, war, corporations, bigotry, and consumerism,
while dancing through with the joy and possibility of clowns and puppets.
The Collective of Geniuses will write Denial of Self by using our Wiki
at narcissist.wetpaint.com. We are inviting the public to submit
little pieces of themselves through written activities. We will then
adapt their submissions into a performance piece. Therefore, audience
participation becomes theater for the people, by the people!
