“You emerge from his [Neil Labute’s] plays either praising him for the metaphoric slap in the face or simply wishing you knew where he lived, so you can hunt down the bastard and deliver a literal slap of your own.” – New York Magazine

Cow. Slob. Pig. How many insults can you hear before you have to stand up and defend the woman you love? Tom faces just that question when he falls for Helen, a bright, funny, sexy young woman who happens to be plus sized-and then some. Forced to explain his new relationship to his shallow (although shockingly funny) friends, finally he comes to terms with his own preconceptions of the importance of conventional good looks. Neil LaBute's sharply drawn play not only critiques our slavish adherence to Hollywood ideals of beauty but boldly questions our own ability to change what we dislike about ourselves.

About Lucky Apple Productions

Mission Top 5
1. To never settle and always stay hungry
2. To always be passionate in the projects that we do
3. To give all the artists an equal voice
4. To earn your money, not take it from you
5. To be honest.

Theater is our first love, we want theater to be affordable to everyone, we want this company to be a place where actors, designers, and directors and playwrights are all challenged to never settle. We want the projects we do to be passionate ones that the artists in this community want to do and want people to see. We want to spread this love we feel for theater out into the community.
