“…brilliant with incident and detail, their careful mapping of character has all the depth of their acting. A world lives inside each of their performances.” – Willamette Week
Ritah Parrish and Lorraine Bahr are at it again. From the women who, together and severally, brought us “I Think He’s a Sociopath but the Dance is Saturday Night,” “Bite Down Hard,” “Bottomless,” “Single Women,” and “Thinking Outside My Box,” comes a new two-woman show, “Live Nude Fear!” Written by and starring Bahr and Parrish, “Live Nude Fear!” is a hilarious and stirring evening addressing, through monologues, scenes, movement and video, the role our fears play in journeys of friendship, solitude, aging, illness, loss and survival. Parrish and Bahr’s previous collaboration, BOTTOMLESS! has been described by Willamette Week as “bright, blunt and powerfully realized.” Described as “streetwise Ruth Draper’s, with an abundance of talent and energy to burn,” Parrish and Bahr combine evocative (and provocative) writing with a profound sense of humor, to delve beneath the surface of ordinary female experience to address both the most ridiculous and most elemental fears that challenge the core of all of us. Here in the “age of Terror,” what could be more fun?!
The show will include eight characters, ranging in age from 2 to 72, some will appear as evolutions of characters performed in their previous original productions, including Angry Tiger, Dixie, and Derira Chin. Directed by Jana Hamlin, with videography by Reuben Nisenfeld, and with surprise special guest appearances, Live Nude Fear! is primed to give you the laughing-gas route to self-forgiveness and, dare we say it, peace of mind.
