A master teacher, trumpet player and composer his work has touched the lives of many listeners and especially his students. He has long been a strong advocate and provider of inspired, accessible music education. Trumpet player Farnell Newton will be presenting the award and brief musical tribute.

Isaka’s work is deeply charged with the African American experience beginning with his seminal work “Vanport” as well as several public murals through out the Northwest.
